News article released to promote Essex Business Excellence Awards for 2015:
“WINNING a business excellence award had helped John Anthony Signs raise its profile at home and overseas.
The company, which makes top quality signs for the likes of Harrods and McLaren, picked up the prize for Export in 2014.
This was a new category introduced last year by Essex County Council and judges were unanimous that John Anthony Signs was the standout winner.
The Rayleigh-based company started out in 1969 with small-scale contracts in the UK but expanded over the decades. Like most UK businesses, John Anthony Signs was hit by the recession in 2009 and had to look overseas for new business at a time when companies here had to put a halt to many of their signage programs. This turned out to be a hugely fortuitous move and the company now works with household name brands all around the world including in Dubai, Kuwait and Egypt.
“The main benefit of winning this business award has been raising the profile of our export capabilities with our clients,” said David Fagg, Sales and Marketing Director. “Receiving the award in 2014, and being a finalist with the UKTI in 2012, has made a big statement to both existing and potential clients and gives them the confidence to both consider us and place orders with us for large global contracts.
“It was an absolute privilege to win the award against some very stiff competition. There is no doubt that winning the award sent a ‘feel-good factor’ throughout our organisation.”
Since winning the award, John Anthony Signs has seen a great increase in opportunities to bid for large international contracts.
“We are on the cusp of winning a large global deal across 84 countries, which was undoubtedly strengthened by winning the export award, as it was almost a seal of approval as a professional, certified, UK exporter,” David added.”
Since this article was written, John Anthony Signs was awarded the large global contract across 84 countries and is currently working on 120 site worldwide installations for a major commercial global business.
We continue to strengthen our international reach.
