John Anthony Signs were pleased to welcome a team of designers from Design Bridge to help them understand sign manufacturing, avoid ‘sky hooks’ and receive inspiration for upcoming signage projects. It was great chatting through their ideas and sharing some of our expert knowledge to assist their team. We were really pleased with their article that was posted after their visit, which seemed to grasp our eye for detail and high quality sign manufacturing.

See below a few quotes from their article:

“These guys do not sacrifice on the quality of the end product. They are exceptional at creating bespoke signage no matter the size or the requirements and that is probably what we like most: they are willing to push the boundaries and find new and innovative ways to make things happen… a philosophy close to our hearts”.

“I guess the main point I’m making, is that when most of us walk down the high street, we don’t realise how much tender love and craft is put into creating shop signs, and how much expertise is necessary to create one of high quality. Of course there are signs and there are SIGNS”.

“So we came back pretty impressed and inspired”. – Design Bridge

When Global Switch needed to update their branding across Europe they were recommended to us by a London design agency as a perfect partner to help them through this process.

John Anthony Signs developed signage both internally and externally for sites in London, Paris, Madrid, Amsterdam and Frankfurt.

Many of these signs were located at high level on tower blocks with the largest being in London at a height of 6m which required structural calculations, additional steelwork and heavy access equipment which was all handled and managed by the John Anthony Signs team.

“I just wanted to pass on my sincere thanks for all the hard work that went into delivering the 1st phase of this project… the standard has now been set for phase 2” – Jaegar.

Jaeger have just opened a new space in its Regents Street store, housing a curated mix of Britain’s leading emerging brands. The boutique gallery will offer a platform for the UK’s design talent in a central London location.

Jaeger wanted the design of the signs to be modern, slim and elegant so John Anthony Signs proposed slimline, 30mm deep LED resin filled illuminated letters. Jaeger were thrilled with the results and John Anthony Signs are developing signage for phase 2 which will be installed in the coming months.

John Anthony Signs recently completed the rebranding of a number of key buildings across the Virgin Atlantic Airways estate. These included major installations at a number of terminals including Gatwick, Heathrow, Edinburgh, Manchester, their training facility and offices in Crawley, Cargo, Logistics and Aeronautics centres.

The Virgin Atlantic Airways logo, which represents the tail fin of a plane, was manufactured to the highest specification and finished with metallic car paints and lacquers.

The tail fins that we installed at Heathrow and Gatwick hangers were enormous at over 5m high with letters at 2.4m high but the same care and attention to detail was given to these sites as was given at the office facilities.

John Anthony Signs continue to work closely with Virgin Atlantic Airways in delivering high quality signage and services across their estates.

John Anthony Signs were pleased to be part of an Essex Chambers of Commerce initiative to invite Lord Green of Hurstpierpoint, the Minister of Trade to meet with local businesses to discuss how the government could support us in exporting across the globe. John Anthony Signs were privileged to have Lord Green visit our factory along with the President of the Chamber of Commerce, the Regional Director for the UKTI and a number of their colleagues.

We enjoyed a discussion about our successes and challenges and then completed a factory tour where the Minister could see first hand much of the work that we are currently exporting to the Middle East. We then re-grouped with a number of other local businesses at Southend airport to enjoy a lunch and open forum discussion which was very informative for all concerned.

Having worked with Canary Wharf for many years John Anthony Signs were the first port of call when there was a requirement for high quality, bespoke satin stainless steel slimline posterboxes to compliment the many hundreds of existing advertisement boards throughout the centre.

When the first two boxes were installed using high colour temperature LED’s, Canary Wharf Management were thrilled with the results and we have continued to manufacture and install new LED boxes throughout the centre.

The existing advertisement boards were made to look poorly lit and in need of refurbishment, so on the back of this work John Anthony Signs were appointed to refurbish over 100 lightboxes to improve the level of illumination and condition of their existing lightbox portfolio. This strategy will also save thousands of pounds of energy costs per annum as the existing fluorescent tubing has been replaced with LED’s making the boxes 80% more efficient.
